Our future is defined by our history.
The SS Great Britain, now berthed at Bristol wharf preserved as a museum carried many free settlers from Great Britain to a new life in Australia. My family’s pioneering ancestors made that treacherous journey in the mid ninteenth century. The future they created for their descendants is defined by their courage.
The Daily Post Photo Challenge is “future.”

About ladyredspecs
I live in sunny Brisbane, Australia. My love of good food drives me as a cook, a reader, a traveller, an artist and but mostly as an eater.
I cooked professionally for many years but have no formal training. Simply guided by a love of eating good food, respect for ingredients and an abhorrence of artificial additives, I cook instinctively applying the technical know how acquired by experience.
I hope you enjoy what I share

Ah yes, mine came then too, but some in chains. Those old ships are amazing to visit. Nice pics Madame Sandra.

Travel by ship in the old days probably wasn’t so much an adventure as an endurance experience. So many people made these trips, though, and I’m thankful they did. Enjoyed the photos and your take on the theme.

Visiting the SS Great Britain was quite an experience, a museum not only with audio visual effect, but also lifelike smells. Definitely not a pleasure cruise for the passengers
