In the early and mid 20th century the Australian economy rode on the sheep’s back. Fine grade Merino wool was our greatest export and once, the bailed wool was stored in the place I now call home. Hessian wrapped wool bales were marked with paint swiped over a stencil to indicate the source of the wool.
